                                               NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

                                 CDBG GRANT APPLICATION FOR HOMETOWN ONE STOP

 The Town of Limestone, Maine, will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday July 5, 2017, at 6:30 P.M. at the Limestone Town Office Municipal Building, 93 Main Street, Limestone to discuss an application being submitted to the State of Maine Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Economic Development Program. 

The purpose of the request is to obtain funds to replace underground fuel tanks at the in-town gas station of Hometown One Stop, in support of job retention.  Hometown One Stop is mandated to replace the tanks per order of the MDEP.  Public comments will be solicited at this Hearing and will be submitted as part of the application’s required documentation.

All persons wishing to make comments or ask questions about the proposal are invited to attend this Public Hearing.  Comments may be submitted in writing to: Fred Ventresco, Town Manager, 93 Main Street, Limestone, ME 04750 at any time prior to the Public Hearing.  TDD/TTY users may call 711.  If you are physically unable to access any of the Town’s programs or services, please call Fred Ventresco at (207) 325-4704 so that accommodations can be made.

   CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER-LOCAL PLUMBING INSPECTOR WANTED

The Town of Limestone is seeking qualified candidates to serve as Code Enforcement Officer and Local Plumbing Inspector (LPI).  These are position defined in State law for municipalities and require State certification in the two areas of expertise.  Experience and certification as a Code Enforcement Officer and/or LPI in Maine and/or one with building trades, surveying, engineering/design, plumbing/septic, or related experience, preferred.  Ability to pass all of the State tests and requirements required within the given time frame of State requirements.  This will be either a part-time, call-in/as-needed, or contracted position.   A Cover letter, resume, and at least three work-related references can be submitted via postal mail, email, or dropped off in person at/to:  Town Manager, Limestone Town Office Building, 93 Main Street, Limestone, ME  04750; This email address is being protected from spambots.                                                                   TOWN MANAGER

The Town of Limestone is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Town Manager.  Limestone is a community in northern Maine near the Canadian border, population approx. 2100, location of most of the former Loring Air Force Base (now the Loring Commerce Centre) and the home to the nationally, highly ranked State charter school the Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM).  The Town is governed by a Town Meeting-Selectpeople-Town Manager form of government with a five-member Board, to which the Manager reports, has a $2.5M overall budget and operates most standard municipal departments.  In addition to other assigned duties/appointments, determined by the Board, the position’s responsibilities are per the statutory Town Manager Plan.  The Manager oversees all Town operations and staff, either through department heads or directly.  Some of the broad and many responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, preparation and administration of all budgets; finance; direct responsibility for the personnel/HR function; public relations; and facilities care.  The position is also currently appointed as Road Commissioner, Welfare Director, and Treasurer.  A bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or a related field is highly desired, master’s degree preferred, with at least three years of management and supervisory experience over a staff and organization, preferably in the public sector; however, any combination of education/training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to effectively and efficiently perform the job, as judged by the Selectboard, will be considered.  Salary based on experience and qualifications.  To apply submit cover letter, detailed resume, salary history, and five (5) professional references to Town Manager Search, Limestone Town Office Building, 93 Main Street, Limestone, ME 04750.  The position is open until filled.
