   CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICER-LOCAL PLUMBING INSPECTOR WANTED

The Town of Limestone is seeking qualified candidates to serve as Code Enforcement Officer and Local Plumbing Inspector (LPI).  These are position defined in State law for municipalities and require State certification in the two areas of expertise.  Experience and certification as a Code Enforcement Officer and/or LPI in Maine and/or one with building trades, surveying, engineering/design, plumbing/septic, or related experience, preferred.  Ability to pass all of the State tests and requirements required within the given time frame of State requirements.  This will be either a part-time, call-in/as-needed, or contracted position.   A Cover letter, resume, and at least three work-related references can be submitted via postal mail, email, or dropped off in person at/to:  Town Manager, Limestone Town Office Building, 93 Main Street, Limestone, ME  04750; This email address is being protected from spambots.                                                                                                                      TOWN MANAGER

The Town of Limestone is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Town Manager.  Limestone is a community in northern Maine near the Canadian border, population approx. 2100.  The Town has a large farming base, is the location of most of the former Loring Air Force Base (now the Loring Commerce Centre), and is the home to the nationally, highly ranked State charter school the Maine School of Science and Mathematics (MSSM).  Limestone is governed by a Town Meeting-Selectpeople-Town Manager form of government with a five-member Board, to which the Manager reports, has a $2.5M overall budget and operates most standard municipal departments.  In addition to other assigned duties/appointments, determined by the Board, the position’s responsibilities are per the statutory Town Manager Plan.  The Manager oversees all Town operations and staff, either through department heads or directly.  Some of the broad and many responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, preparation and administration of all budgets; finance; direct responsibility for the personnel/HR function; public relations; and facilities care.  The position is also currently appointed as Road Commissioner, Welfare Director, and Treasurer.  A bachelor’s degree in public or business administration or a related field is highly desired, master’s degree preferred, with at least three years of management and supervisory experience over a staff and organization, preferably in the public sector; however, any combination of education/training and experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to effectively and efficiently perform the job, as judged by the Selectboard, will be considered.  Salary based on experience and qualifications.  To apply submit cover letter, detailed resume, salary history, and five (5) professional references to Town Manager Search, Limestone Town Office Building, 93 Main Street, Limestone, ME 04750.  Questions should be directed to Fred Ventresco at the Limestone Town Office or via This email address is being protected from spambots. Please note, the August 2, 2017 Selectpeople meeting was cancelled due to the power outage in Town that day.

 

--PLANNING BOARD

The Planning Board will hold a Public Hearing Monday August 14, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Limestone Town Office on the proposed new Zoning and Land Use Ordinance for the Town, including the Wellhead Prospection component for the Limestone Sewer and Water District.
